In just eight to ten minutes of Kalbaisakhi Jha and hailstorm, 1,175 hectares of Boro paddy of eight thousand farmers have been destroyed in the water.
On Wednesday (March 29), numerous vegetable fields including Boro cropland were destroyed in the hailstorm over Purbadhala and Sadar Upazila of the district. However, some areas have not yet seen any public representative or government, the victims said.
It has been seen on the surface that there has been heavy storm and hailstorm on the Naranditha of Khalishau, Khalishau Gohalakanda, in Sadar, Rouha and Purbadhala upazila, which has destroyed the cropland with numerous trees and houses in the village.
The affected farmers said that the entire area suddenly started a kind of ghostly situation around 5 am. Before realizing anything, there was a huge damage to the swarm of 25 to 30 villages in the storm of 10 minutes, there was a huge damage to the budding crops including mango buds, cucumber fields, borough paddy, gourd fields, banana plantations, kumja gardens and gardens.
Although the amount of damage was not determined immediately due to hail and hail, the district agriculture department has known that there has been a huge loss of vegetables.
Additional Deputy Director of Netrakona District Agriculture Department AM Shahidul Islam said that this year, Boro paddy has been cultivated on 1 lakh 84 thousand hectares of land.
Meanwhile, 1,175 hectares of crops have been destroyed by hailstorm in various units of Purbadhala and Sadar upazilas, which has affected 8,000 farmers, said the agricultural official.
