Earlier on Saturday evening, the Rajshahi-Dhaka highway was closed after the clashes on Saturday evening, which has been closed in Bihar Mor, Talaimari Bhadra Mor area of the city till now. As a result, various vehicles using this road are moving through alternative routes.
It is reported that on Saturday evening, there was a clash between Rabi students and locals in Binodpur market over the trivial incident. Meanwhile, BGB has been deployed at night to bring the situation to the point of the night before the clashes were vandalized in Binodpur market during the clashes.
Meanwhile, the students are informed that they will sit with the university administration with their various demands and the situation is in a state of chaos due to the clashes in Rabi and Binodpur Bazar areas.
Vehicles coming from Natore are entering the city through Budhpara flyover as an alternative way to enter the city, while the small vehicles coming towards Katakhali from the market are going through Phultala Balurghat. Besides, the buses are going from the scheduled bus stand to the new bypass at Bhadra Mor D.
On the other hand, the railway station sources said that all the trains from Rajshahi left on time at various destinations, leaving for Mahananda from Rajshahi to Khulna at 8:30 am, before the Silk City Banalata Express trains left for Dhaka from Rajshahi.
In this regard, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rafiqul Islam, spokesperson of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, said the situation is calm. Additional police have been deployed at the spot while law enforcement personnel are active and members of the intelligence forces are working at the same time.
