Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a charger van and an autorickshaw in Rajshahi, and the accident took place at Moslem Moslem of Katakhali police station in Paba upazila around 9 am on Wednesday.
The deceased are van driver Rahat Ali (45) and pedestrian Reena Begum (50). Among them, Rina Begum is a resident of Aani village and Rahat Ali Pabar is a resident of Parila village.
The eyewitnesses said that they were seriously injured when an autorickshaw was hit by a passenger charger in the van, and they were treated in the hospital.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Katkhali Police Station Jahangir Alam said, "Shakt Accident" The locals rescued them and admitted them to the Rajshahi Medical College (Ramek) Hospital where the doctor on duty declared them dead, the auto driver was on the run but the auto police was in custody, the OC said.
