Staff Reporter: The new 5 (five) taka notes signed by the finance secretary of Sinister are coming to the market on June 5 (Sunday). The finance department has decided to continue the new notes and metal coins in the market along with the new notes.
It is reported that the new notes will be issued initially from the Motijheel office of Bangladesh Bank and later the note will be issued from other offices of Bangladesh Bank.
The new note signed by Senior Secretary of Finance Department Mahbub Ahmed has a portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Jati Memorial and on the other side of Kusumba Mosque in Naogaon.
On both sides of the note, there will be the national symbol of Bangladesh instead of the monogramm of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, instead of the Bangladesh Bank, the monogramm of Bangladesh Bank.
At the same time, the legal tender-currency note will not contain the text ‘Five taka will be given to its carrier if you want’ in the middle of the front of the note.
Also, the color, measurement, watermark, design and other security features of the new notes will remain the same as the current notes.
It is to be noted that the President gave his consent on November 21 last year to convert the five taka note into a currency note instead of a bank note.
