VGF for all registered jails in Kamalnagar press conference to demand allocation

Kamalnagar Upazila Aomi League President and Char Lawrence Unit Parishad (UP) Chairman AKM Nurul Amin Master held a press conference to demand the allocation of VGF (rice) of all registered fishermen who refrained from catching jatka to increase hilsa production in Kamalnagar of Lakshmipur.

On Sunday (May 14) at noon, the press conference was organized at Char Lawrence Unit Parishad office in Mujibnagar of the upazila.

AKM Nurul Amin Master said in the press conference that Kamalnagar Upazila is registered fisherman 13 thousand 398 people are getting rice of VGF. 7 thousand 142 fishermen are getting rice. Meanwhile, 323 of the 708 registered fishermen are getting rice but others are deprived of rice. I strongly demand the government to bring the support.

Members of Char Lawrence Unitar Parishad Fakrul Islam Dulal, Abdul Ali, Saiful Islam, Nashir Uddin, former president of Kamalnagar Upazila Chhatra League Jahangir Alam Biplab, vice president Helal Uddin Himel and general secretary Ashrafuzzaman Russell were present in the press conference.

 

When asked about this, Kamalnagar Upazila Fisheries Officer (Acting) Abdul Qudduch said that Kamalnagar Upazila has 13 thousand 398 registered boys but 7 thousand 142 VGFs for fishermen. Its rice has been allocated and the deprived fishermen have been informed to the higher authorities so that they can support this in the future.

Incidentally, all species were banned in the 100 km Meghna river from Shatanal in Chandpur to Ramgatti in Laxmipur for 2 months in March and April 2.
