The illegal nets seized from the Meghna river in Ramgati upazila of Laxmipur have been destroyed by the naval police in the fire.
On Friday (March 24) at noon, the nets were mounted in front of the Nail-Police Police Station of the upazila. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Satafuzzaman Faruqi of the Esmut Naval Police Headquarters was present.
Earlier, from Thursday (March 23) night to Friday afternoon, the naval police seized about 6,000 meters of illegal current nets and sixty nets from different areas of the Meghna river.
Deputy Inspector (SI) in charge of Naval Police Department. Hasibul Islam said that the nets should be seized in the Meghna river.
