The court ordered a life sentence of 1 lakh rupees to a accused named Abu Hanif alias Hanif Darji (48), a 5-year-old child who was raped by Kustitar Kumarkhali police station.
On Sunday (August 28) at noon, Judge Said Habibul Islam of the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal of Kushtia District and Datra Judge Court announced this in the presence of the accused in the Janakiran court.
Abu Hanif alias Hanif Daji, son of Sulaiman alias Shak Molla of Habaspur village of Kushtitar Kumarkhali upazila, was convicted.
On September 28, 2018, the father of the child filed a case against the Kumarkhali Thana, Abu Hanif alias Hanif Darji, the only accused under the Kumarkhali Thana, whose case number is 35.
The counsel for the state's prosecution (PP) Ed. Abdul Halim confirmed the poison, “Kumarkhali Thana 9(1)/2000 Women and Child Abuse Suppression Act 2003 Section 2003. At the end of the long hearing of the complaint of child rape, the only accused Abu Hanif alias Hanif alias Hanif Darji has been fined Tk 1 lakh along with life rigor imprisonment as the court will be given the court.”
