The candidate of Zilla Parishad from Kamalnagar upazila of Laxmipur is Fatsal Ahmed Ratan, former chairman of Torabganj Union Parishad, who has been the chairman of the union twice before.
Confirming the poison of the candidate, Ratan said, "The people of Kamalnagar coastal area are affected in various ways due to coastal influence. I will work alongside them if I am a member. That is why I am a candidate for the post of Zilla Parishad.
Ratan is the son of deceased Mohiuddin Ahmed Selim, former chairman of Torabganj Union and general secretary of Greater Ramgati Upazila Awami League.
He said, according to the schedule, the last date of submission of nomination papers is September 15, selection of nomination papers is September 18, appeal against the selection letter is September 19 to 21, appeal settlement is September 22 to 24, last sum of candidature withdrawal September 25. Symbol Allotment is 17 October.
