The strong earthquake struck Indonesia, which hit the southern island of Sumatra on Tuesday (August 23) at 9:31 PM.
The local disaster management authority is trying to assess the extent of the damage caused by it.
According to the Indonesian Meteorological and Geodhnetic Organization, the earthquake was 80 km south of Manna city in Benkulu province and 52 km deep from the center surface.
The city of Manna is located 600 km from Indonesian capital Jakarta.
According to a statement by the disaster management agency BPNB, the strong earthquake was two to six seconds in the area, which residents felt the impact along the southern coast of Sumatra.
