The High Court has suggested a writ of writ on the incident of five people including children in the private car of the flyover of Uttara BRT project in the capital.
On Tuesday, the court suggested the writ when the three lawyers were self-motivated to protect the fundamental rights of the citizens and asked for a ruling (Sumomoto) order. The High Court bench of Mojibur Rahman Mita and Justice Khizir Hatt gave this advice.
The accident was reported by the newspaper Nithekat published in the report of the reporter Barrister Saitd Mahsib Hossain, Advocate Jamiul Haque Fasal and Advocate Md Shahinuzzaman, who asked for a good order from the court.
The court then said, ‘You come with the writ petition. Then we will listen.’
On Monday afternoon, a girder crane was placed on a private car in the Jasimuddin area of Uttara, which was killed by five people in a private car on the spot, including two children.
There were seven passengers in the village, two children, two women and one man, who are only surviving, the newlyweds—Rita Akhter (19) and Rezaul Karim Hriday (26). They are undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital.
The deceased are - Rubel (50), Jharna (28), Fahima, Jannat (6) and Zakarita (2). Their bodies have been kept in the mortuary of Shaheed Sohraradi Medical College Hospital in the capital.
In the midnight of Monday, Uttara Paschim police station filed a case against the deceased Fahima Akhter and Jharna Akhtar's brother Afran Mandal Babu, which has been charged against the driver, project contractor and security officials, and unidentified persons.
