‘World Population Day was celebrated in Charbhadrasan, Faridpur on Thursday, July 21 under the theme of ’800 crore world: Everyone's opportunities, preferences and rights are guaranteed.
Upazila Chairman Md. Kaushar Hossain was present as the chief guest. Upazila Vice Chairman Md. Motaleb Mollya and Female Vice Chairman Farida Begum were present as special guests. Charbhadrasan Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md Khatarul Islam, Gazirtek UP Chairman Isatakub Ali, Harirampur UP Chairman Jahangir Kabir, Muktijodha Abul Kalam Azad, and journalist Abul Kalam also spoke.
Since 1990, World Population Day has been celebrated every year on July 11, but this time due to Eid-ul-Azha, the government has decided to observe this day on July 21. The goal of World Population Day is to raise public awareness about various issues related to family planning, gender equality, poverty, maternal health and human rights.
