Bangladesh Telecommunication Agency (BTRC) has banned mobile operator Grameenphone SIM sales.
BTRC has written to Grameenphone on Wednesday (June 29) to know about such a decision. It is said that the operator will not be able to sell the new SIM until further orders.

According to BTRC calculations, in the country The number of mobile phone users is 17 crore 1 lakh 37 thousand. The May report of BTRC says that the current number of Grameenphone subscribers is 8 crore 49 lakh 50 thousand.
When asked about this issue, Grameenphone Head of Communication Khairul Basar said in a statement to the media that Grameenphone is ahead of the related standards in providing services in addition to following the service criteria of BTRC and international organization ITU.
