A child named Tachim Hossain (6) died after bathing with his parents in the Milpaja Swashan Ghat area of Kushtita city.
The incident took place at Gai River at Milpa Shwashan Ghat around 2.30 pm on Wednesday, May 25.
The poison was confirmed by Kushta Model Police Station OC Sabbirul Alam.
Ujjal Hossain, the father of the child Tachim, said, I will go to bathe in the river in Swashan Ghat area of my wife and son Tachim. I bathed my baby on the ghat and we both washed the masari together and my son went into the water of Tachim river from behind. If we immediately searched for water, we got my son from under the water.
Later, when we went to Tachim's 250-bed Kushta General Hospital, the doctor on duty declared Tachim dead.
