President Abdul Hamid expressed deep grief over the death of Suranjit Sengupta, a senior politician and member of the Advisory Council of Aoami League, who has been informed by the President's press wing.
The President said, ‘Suranjit Sengupta was not only a politician but also made an outstanding contribution to the constitution of Bangladesh. His skills and experience in parliamentary politics are unparalleled.’
The President said in his condolence message, ‘The nation will forever remember Suranjit Sengupta's contribution to the parliamentary politics of Bangladesh. In his death, the country has lost a skilled politician, this loss is indestructible.’
He prayed for the peace of Suranjit Sengupta's departed soul and expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.
He died at 4:24 am on Sunday (February 05) under treatment at LabAid Hospital in the capital.
