Mannion and mass gatherings have been held to demand the construction of EPZ area in Gaibandha and the construction of tunnels under the Brahmaputra-Yamuna from Balasi to Bahadurabad.

The government has planned to build EPZ on the land of Sahebganj Bagdafarm. If the EPZ is built here, the Santals will not have the land of their father and grandfather, and the construction of the EPZ is not reasonable.
So the Santals have continued their agitation demanding the cancellation of the EPZ construction plan. This reality is that the Sankota Bridge area of Palashbai Upazila is in Gaibandha-Palashbai Upazila.
The speakers also said that the then Deputy Commissioner of Gaibandha Kazi Anonorul Haque sent the proposal to EPZ in the bridge area. But sadly but true, the scheming group was covering up the proposal of the then Deputy Commissioner. If the Santals are doing EPZs on the disputed land, the investors will be interested in investing if the Sankota area is EPZ.
Because if EPZ is built here, investors will get the opportunity to use highways, railways, waterways, helipads. The people of this area can easily travel to EPZ along with the people of Sundarganj, Phulchha, Saghata, Sadullapur, Gobindganj, Palashbai and Gaibandha Sadar Upazila.
