The 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of BAT Bangladesh was held on March 30, 2022 at 10:30 am.
The meeting was attended by a significant number of shareholders from different parts of the country and abroad through virtual platforms, BAT Bangladesh Chairman Golam Moin Uddin served as the president of the event.
The Annual General Meeting Shareholders unanimously agreed on five important decisions. For example: approval of financial statements for 2021, selection of board of directors, total 275% cash dividend per share (125% interim dividend), appointment of statutory auditors and appointment of corporate governance auditors.
In 2021, the company paid a revenue of Tk 29,078 crore to the national treasury as value added tax or VAT, supplementary duty and other taxes, which has awarded BAT Bangladesh as the highest taxpayer in the country.
Moreover, the company's women's empowerment, sustainable agricultural initiatives are contributing to the development of a potential Bangladesh by helping to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
