On Wednesday (March 16) around 11 pm, a freighter was searched and arrested along with the baby sharks.
M Zamir Hossain (CPO), Contingent Commander of Patharghata Station of Coast Guard, confirmed the information.
He said that on the basis of secret information on Wednesday, two people were seized from a cargo carriage in Taltala bus stand area based on secret information.
Later, in the presence of Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Upazila Sinister Fisheries Officer and Forest Department Local Range Officer, they were fined 5 thousand taka through the mobile court and the chicks of the shark were buried in the ground and destroyed.
