Diplomatic relations between Switzerland and Bangladesh have been completed 50 years since Switzerland officially recognized Bangladesh as an independent state five decades ago.
On the occasion of this special milestone in bilateral relations, President Md. Swiss President Ignazio Kasis congratulated Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
For the past five decades, Switzerland has been working as a reliable economic and development partner of the people of Bangladesh and the government.

Besides, he has also given significant amount of donations through various international financial institutions.
