A housewife named Safiulyah Sabu (55), a former UP member, was killed in a sword and shot dead in Lakshmipur.
The incident took place on Saturday (January 28) around 2 am in Andar Manik village of Sadar Upazila, and sent to Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital on Sunday (January 29) morning for mating.
The deceased Sabu was a former UP member of No. 7 Otarard of Teotiriganj Unit and son of deceased Abdul Mannan of that village.
Ala Uddin, the son of the deceased, said that in the middle of the night, a group of robbers broke the door and attacked their house. When the robbers tried to stop him from looting the gold ornaments, his father was killed and shot dead by him.
Locals said that the neighbors came to the scene after hearing the screams and saw the dead body of Sabu's bloody bullet wound.
Omar Farooq Bhulu, a local CHTO, 2015, said that the robbers were organized by the former UP member Sofiullah, who was a robbing and shot that the robbers killed Sabu in the morning.
Laxmipur Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdullah Al Mamun and senior officials of the district police tried to contact him on mobile but it was not possible to take any statement from them.
