Dhaka: The High Court has ordered immediate stoppage of all harmful online games including PUBG, Free Fire from all the online platforms of the country.
After the preliminary hearing of a writ petition, Justice Md. Mojibur Rahman Mita and Justice Md. Kamrul Hossain Mollar's Virtual High Court gave this order along with the bench rule.
Lawyer Md. Humatan Kabir was in the hearing for the application in the court.
Earlier on June 24, the writ was filed on behalf of the human rights organization Law and Life Foundation.
The defendants in the writ are Posts and Telecommunications Secretary, BTRC Chairman, Education Secretary, Home Secretary, Law Secretary, Health Secretary and Inspector General of Police, Bangladesh Bank and other concerned. According to Humaton Kabir, the youth of the country and children and adolescents are becoming heavily addicted to games like PUBG and Free Fire, which is destroying social values, education, culture and future generations becoming untalented, and these games are becoming the focal point of training youth.
On the other hand, using TikTok, Likey apps, children and youth of the country are indulging in various immoral activities. The teenage gang culture is being created across the country and the teenage gang culture is being engaging in immoral entertainment and sexual activities in the name of pool party in various secret places, and the recent incidents of women trafficking and money laundering from Bangladesh are going through TikTok, Likey and Bigo Live, which is very dangerous and against the country and public interest, against the rules.
