The ferry hit the pillar number 10 of Padma Bridge again on Friday (August 13) around 7:30 am on the way from Banglabazar Ghat to Shimulita Ghat, which hit a ferry pillar named Kakli. The accident happened again on August 9.

He said the ferry is supposed to come in the 11-12 pillars of the Padma Bridge but due to the strong current of the river and the wind, the 10th pillar of the Padma Bridge is hit by the 10-12 pillars of the Padma Bridge.
He added that the ferries were not above the cracked water level and the Padma Bridge pillars were not damaged. After the impact, the ferry was able to reach Shimulita Ghat safely and there were no casualties.
Driver Md. Badal Hossain said the ferry had a technical problem, which was reported to the higher authorities recently but the BIWTC Shimulighat authorities have not taken action.
