cover ;; Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) said that internet service may be disrupted on Friday (May 28) due to the maintenance of underground cable in Cox's Bazar. BSCCL said in a notification that internet service may be disrupted or slowed from 2 pm to 10 pm i.e. within 8 hours.
In view of the road development work of BSCCL, Cox's Bazar Road Division and Cox's Bazar Development Authority, the construction of a new underground cable route from Cox's Bazar Landing Station to Beach Manhole has been completed as an alternative route for the current underground cable.
It is planned to complete all traffic of the terminated circuit from the new underground cable (Bitch Manhole to Cox's Bazar Landing Station) with the connectivity of the SMW-4 submarine cable with the optical fiber and power cable installed on the new route.
‘All circuits will be closed at Cox's Bazar landing station through the said period, but during the period, the circuits of the submarine cable and ITC operators will be operational during maintenance work. Internet consumers may experience the slowness of the Internet during the maintenance work.
