Kamalnagar:
The upazila administration has seized 4 tractors and veku machines for illegally excavating and transporting soil in Kamalgar of Lakshmipur.
On Thursday (April 8) night, these were arrested in a raid on Bhuluta river in Rahimganj Bazar area of Torabganj Unit of the upazila.
Confirming the poison, Kamalnagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Kamruzzaman said that a group is illegally excavating soil from Bhuluta river and selling it. After the news, a veku machine and four illegal tractors were seized in the night after the news.
According to the locals, for a long time, Md. Sirajul Islam, member of Torabganj Uniton Parishad No. 7 (Member) of the Torabganj Unit, has been illegally excavating the soil from the Bhuluta river and selling various brick kilns, on the one hand, the government property is being dispossessed, on the other hand, the rural areas are being destroyed by the movement of tractors.
A mahal has built an illegal dam on the river Bhuluta, which stops the flow of the river and becomes dead in the river.
