Cabinet Secretary Khandkar Ananotarul Islam said that this instruction was given in the virtual cabinet meeting on Monday (December 21) chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Ministers and State Ministers from Ganabhaban and from the conference room of the Cabinet Division at the Secretariat attended the meeting.

At the briefing after the meeting, he said that the Cabinet has been informed about the steps taken by the local government to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the government made it mandatory for everyone to wear masks outside the home in July and is being jailed and fined by mobile courts to ensure the use of masks for everyone.

The Cabinet Secretary said, ‘No mask, no service’ is being campaigned through the local government to promote it widely, in rural areas, teachers, journalists, public representatives, conscious people of the society have been included in this work.

‘The prime minister has directed that since the coronavirus is spreading in the world, we have to go into a little more strong action so that we can maintain social distancing as much as possible. And the masks are being discussed again and again.’

He said, "No mask, no service, I am saying it in the face, it has to be applied practically. The mask that comes without wearing it must be ensured that the public and private offices do not get service in any way. It has to give a role of this to the local government department."

Ananotarul Islam said, "Now we have an advantage, we understand that we have no idea in March, April, May. Now the treatment protocol is understood, the handling management is understood."
