Election Commission Secretary Helaluddin Ahmad announced this instruction in a press conference at the election building on Monday (November 26).<\/p>\n

He said, in view of the election, the Election Commission has ordered 24-hour monitoring of social media to prevent rumors, misinformation and theorems. In this case, the mobile operator, the cyber crime unit of BTRC, NTMC and the cyber crime unit of the police will be monitoring round the clock (all the time).\u2019<\/p>\n

Helaluddin Ahmad said, \u2018If you use social media including Facebook to question or disrupt the election, I have directed the concerned organization to monitor the election for 24 hours. If the propaganda is carried out from the fake ID, the existing law will be taken against the propaganda.\u2019<\/p>\n

In response to a question from journalists, the secretary said, \u2018The social media will not be stopped in any way, the cyber crime unit of the NTMC, BTRC and law enforcement agencies will monitor the cyber crime units of the NCT, who will spread rumors, violence and propaganda. In this case, the EC will be monitored by the EC.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Helaluddin Ahmad said in various ways on Facebook that the campaign is not covered by the code of conduct to impose restrictions on campaigning on Facebook. But after the withdrawal of candidature, legal action will be taken if campaigning before that.\u2018<\/p>\n
