In Kamalnagar of Lakshmipur, the mobile court sentenced 11 fishermen to seven days of imprisonment for fishing in the Meghna river in violation of the government ban.<\/p>\n
On Friday (October 23) around 3 pm, the mobile court led by Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Muhammad Arafat Hussain gave the sentence.<\/p>\n
The convicted fishermen are - Md. Osman, Me: Qadir, Md. Rakib, Md. Akram, Md. Aktar Hossain, Md Hasan, Md Azgar, Abdul Ghani, Md. Russell, Md. Bachchu Majhi and Md. Shahadat.<\/p>\n
According to upazila fisheries office, from 6 am to 1 pm on Friday, from Matabbarhat area of the upazila to Motirhat area, joint in Meghna river. The operation was conducted by the Upazila Fisheries Office and Coast Guard, which was arrested on the charge of fishing in violation of the government ban.<\/p>\n
The fisheries protection and conservation against the fishermen were later taken into account by the mobile court, which the court sentenced each of them to seven days without labor. The seized hilsa was distributed to the orphanage, which is also being destroyed in the illegal fake garland.<\/p>\n
