\nA day-long workshop was held in Rakhtpur, Laxmipur, to increase public awareness about the village court. On Thursday (May 21), the upazila administration organized the workshop titled \u201cRole of public and private institutions in the role of local government and private institutions in the Upazila Parishad meeting\u201d.<\/p>\n
The workshop held under the chairmanship of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mehdi Hasan Kaushar was attended by District Manager A.K.M. Abedullah, Upazila coordinator of the village court Md. Chafiullah, heads of various government and private institutions, journalists and related persons.
\nThe workshop has discussed the scope of the work, law, rules and its benefits in the village court. The speakers said that according to the Village Court Act, 2009, the local area has the opportunity to settle various criminal and civil disputes at a low cost.<\/p>\n
Discussion, various types of disputes including fraud, quarrels, fights, intimidation, embezzlement of property, property embezzlement, land grabbing, compensation due to cattle are settled through village courts. Especially women, disabled and minority people are getting the opportunity to get justice easily.<\/p>\n
The participants expressed their views through the group and the cerc and presented various recommendations to further accelerate the activities of the village court, and the speakers emphasized the effective role of the village court in the local dispute resolution.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
