The government has changed the English spelling of the names of Chittagong, Barisal, Comilla, Bogusa and Jessore districts to match the Bengali name.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over her office and the National Committee for Administrative Reorganization (NICAR) The meeting approved the proposal to change the English spelling of the names of these five districts.<\/p>\n<p>The Secretary of the Cabinet Division (Coordination and Reforms) NM Ghaiul Alam told reporters at the Secretariat that the names of some districts were spelled during the British period. These were to be changed.<\/p>\n<p>Currently the English spelling of Chittagong is Chittagong, Comilla is spelled Comilla, Barisal is spelled Barisal, Jessore is spelled Jessore and Boguar is spelled Bogra.<\/p>\n<p>Now instead of Chittagong, the proposal to make Chattogram, Cumilla instead of Comilla, Barishal instead of Barisal, Jashore instead of Jessore and Bogura instead of Bogura will be approved.<\/p>\n<p>The decision to form and reorganize various administrative units including the formation of new department, district, upazila, thana, new ministry and department is given.
