Lakshmipur ;;<\/strong>\u00a0Farmers have formed a human chain in Kamalnagar of Lakshmipur to demand the closure of illegal brick kilns and recovery of occupied agricultural land.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

On Tuesday (March 27) at noon, a human chain was held at the local affected farmers of Charpagla village in Torabganj Union of the upazila. They protested before that.<\/p>\n

It is known that since the first 6 years, an influential Nitma-politics named Arif Hossain has been occupying the agricultural land in Charpagla village and has been doing brick kiln activities called Madina Brikfield, which is polluting the environment using wood planting and Bengali chimneys. The surrounding areas are being disrupted, agricultural production has been reduced and biodiversity is being affected.<\/p>\n

In such a situation, the local farmers, including the Deputy Commissioner and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), along with the demand for the ban on illegal brick kilns, have also filed a case in the court. The court also ordered the suspension of the brick kiln work. After a few days, the work of brick kilns has started again.<\/p>\n

Farmers Alamgir Hossain, Bahar Uddin, Zahirul Islam, Parveen spoke at the human chain. Akhtar and Supera Begum and others.<\/p>\n

The speakers said that Arif Hossain is harming the environment in brick kilns by occupying agricultural land. They have been making bricks illegally using wood and Bengali chimneys without swapping the brick kilns and the environment is being disrupted. On the other hand, the production of crops is being disrupted.
