Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus has returned home after participating in the sixth BIMSTEC conference held in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.<\/p>\n
He landed in Dhaka on a Biman Bangladesh Aerlines flight at 10:50 a.m. local time on Friday (April 4) and before that, he left for Dhaka at 8:45 PM.<\/p>\n
The chief advisor arrived in Bangkok on Thursday and participated in various programs including bilateral meetings with the heads of government of several neighboring countries as well as the conference.<\/p>\n
Bangladesh has taken over as BIMSTEC president for the next two years at the conference, reiterated its commitment to regional connectivity, economic cooperation and development across South and Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n
On the sidelines of the conference, the chief advisor of Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral meetings where he spoke about bringing Sheikh Hasina back, and there were also fruitful discussions on various issues related to mutual interests including killings on the border, distribution of water on the Teesta river.<\/p>\n
Bangladesh has sought Sri Lanka's cooperation to bring back the stolen money from Bangladesh Bank. The chief advisor of Bangladesh Professor Muhammad Yunus met with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harinia Amasuriya on the sidelines of the BIMSTEC conference.<\/p>\n
