The court has granted bail to the arrested employee Mustafa Asif alias Arnav on the charge of harassing a female student in the Dhaka University (DU) campus.<\/p>\n
On Thursday (March 6), the investigating officer of the case, Md. Taufiq Hasan, Deputy Inspector Md. Taufiq Hasan, brought him to the court and detained him in the jail.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, the lawyer of the accused held a bail hearing and opposed the bail for the state. After the hearing of the two sides, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehra Mahbub granted his bail.<\/p>\n
It is known that a female student of Dhaka University, who was harassed by Mustafa Asif on her way back from Shahbagh on Wednesday, filed a social media post, first complained to the proctor's office of Dhaka University, who later filed a case in Shahbag police station.<\/p>\n
The student mentioned in the complaint of the case that on March 5, around 12:00 PM, he and his friend walked from the front of the Jati Museum to the campus of Dhaka University and when Raju reached the campus on his way to the campus, he asked why he did not veil.<\/p>\n
DU Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed said, \"Around 4 pm yesterday, we received a complaint that one of our students was harassed by our library assistant bookbinder, Mustafa Asif alias Arnab, after some students brought him to my office. When we interrogated him, he confessed to the harassment and then we handed him over to the police.<\/p>\n
