On Thursday (January 9), the Minister of Commerce of Turkey, Professor Dr. He said this when a delegation led by Omar Bolat went to meet the chief advisor.<\/p>\n

Referring to Bangladesh as the 8th most populous country in the world. Yunus said that the interim government is working to create job opportunities for the youth of the country and he sought Turkey's help in this regard.<\/p>\n

Turkey's Minister of Commerce Professor Dr. Omar Bolat said, \u2018Bangladesh and Turkey can diversify their cooperation beyond the textile industry. It is Turkey's main import product from Bangladesh.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018The defense industry, health care, pharmaceuticals and agricultural machinery can be economic cooperation. We can replace India and other markets in the import of Bangladesh. There may be cooperation in all economic and social sectors.\u2019<\/p>\n

Omar Bolat also said, \u2018Universities in Bangladesh and Turkey can cooperate with each other.\u2019<\/p>\n

In the fiscal year 2023-24, Bangladesh's export to Turkey was about 58 million 10 million US dollars and the import amount was about 42 million 4 million US dollars.<\/p>\n

Currently, about 20 large companies in Turkey are working in Bangladesh in the sectors of clothing and textile, accessories, chemical, engineering, construction and energy.<\/p>\n

Notable among the Turkish companies operating in Bangladesh are Turkish LPG companies Aygaz, Coca-Cola Isec and refrigerator and AC manufacturer Arcilik (which Singer Bangladesh Limited has acquired).<\/p>\n

The chief adviser recalled his telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in August last year, followed by an eight-member delegation from Turkey in October.<\/p>\n
