Computers or laptops never have ‘A’ or ‘B’ drives. The drives start from ‘C’ but why?

If you are If you are the first user of the computer, then the answer to this question is that you should know. If you are the current generation of users, then surely this question is in your mind that why the name of your computer or laptop drive in Windows operating system starts from ‘C’?

That is, the computer's main drive always starts from ‘C’ and then the other drives are consistently like ‘D’, ‘E’, ‘F’. If you use USB drives on the computer, it is ‘G’ and ‘H’. So what happened to the ‘A’ and ‘B’ drives?

Now, find out the answer. When the computer came to the market at first, it didn't have internal storage. The computer used to use floppy disk drives as storage. In the beginning, the floppy disk was used as a drive in the computer. The floppy disk was two types of size 5 1/4 inch and 3 1/2 inches. As a result, when the computer used two floppy disks, it was called ‘A’ and ‘B’ drive.

Then when the hard disk came as the internal storage of the computer, when the computer came to the name of ‘C’ drive as a continuation, because the computer was still ‘A’ and ‘B’ drive as external storage. The computer's operating system was installed on the hard drive.

However, the fact that your computer or laptop hard disk drive is fixed for life as ‘C’ is not. If you want, you can take the drive name ‘A’ from the administrative option of the computer.
