The Bahamas became an independent nation in 1973 through a law of self-control. Therefore, the Bahamas supports the legal right to self-control of the Palestinian people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Earlier last week, the Trinidad and Tobago governments announced that they are officially recognizing the Palestinian state, which is supposed to recognize Palestine as an independent state by the end of this month.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Originally, Palestine was recognized as an observer state of the United Nations General Assembly in 2012. The United States was allowed to participate in the United Nations agencies, but did not give the power to vote. On April 18, the United States vetoed a resolution requesting a full membership of Palestine in the United Nations Security Council. The United States was in favor of Palestine in the 15-member Security Council.
