Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said that it will be possible to introduce a universal pension scheme in Bangladesh from the financial year 2023-24.<\/p>\n
He said that the beneficiaries can enjoy pension benefits and Bangladeshi nationals working outside the country can also participate in this scheme.<\/p>\n
In the budget speech, the minister said, \u201cAccording to the election promise of the Awami League, I promised to introduce a universal pension system in the 2022-23 financial year budget speech.<\/p>\n
The work has already been made much ahead of the Great National Parliament, which has passed the \u2018Universal Pension Management Act-2023\u2019. I hope that it will be possible to introduce a public pension scheme in Bangladesh from the financial year 2023-24. If included in the proposed scheme, a beneficiary of 18 to 50 years of age and a beneficiary of 50 years of age can enjoy life-pension benefits for a minimum of 10 years.
\nBangladeshi citizens working abroad can also participate in it.<\/p>\n
If you die before the age of 75 years of the pension, the pensioner will be eligible for pension until the pensioner's 75 years of age. If the extortionee dies before the completion of 75 years, the deposit will be returned to the nominee with profit.<\/p>\n
He said that the prescribed contribution for pension will be considered as investment and in contrast tax rebate benefits will be available, besides, the money received from the monthly pension will be exempt from income tax.
