Farid Ahmed Abir, Durgapur: A discussion meeting was held in the awareness of Rajshahi's Durgapur upazila administration to stop the digging of ponds in three crop fields.<\/p>\n

On Monday afternoon, the upazila administration held a separate view of the upazila's Kismat Ganakoi Unit and Naopa Uniton Parishad area.<\/p>\n

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Unnat and Human Resource Management) Anisul Islam was present as the chief guest.<\/p>\n

Under the chairmanship of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sohel Rana, Kismat Gonkoi Istan Ujalkhalsi High School ground at 12 noon and Naopara High School ground of Naopara Union Parishad held 2 pm. <\/p>\n

People from various professions including fish farmers and farmers were present.<\/p>\n

Fish farmers and farmers said in their speech that earlier the excavation of ponds in arable land has caused waterlogging in many lands. So after three years, if the waterlogging is not resolved and the pond is not renovated, the fish farming will be disrupted. They requested the administration to investigate the pond on the ground.<\/p>\n

In the president's speech, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sohel Rana said that according to the instructions of the Prime Minister, the pond cannot be excavated by changing the class of any three crops, two-crop land. <\/p>\n

He further said that if The district administration will observe the water and make a video of the waterlogged land for a pond digging of the land. <\/p>\n

Additional Deputy Commissioner Anisul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Chief Guest Speech, said that under no circumstances should a pond be dug on three crops but no land can be left fallow as per the Prime Minister's announcement.The land must be prepared for crop production. <\/p>\n
