Three people, including two children and youth, were killed in lightning at separate places in Baniachong upazila, and immediately on the orders of Habiganj District Commissioner Ishrat Jahan, each family of the victims was given 20,000 cash and dry food.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, April 14, three people died due to lightning in the upazila between 6 am and 7 am. The victims were Tantaji of No. 3 of Unit No. 3 of Banichang Upazila Sadar. Md. Hossain Mita (12), son of Md. Akal Ali of Mohalla village, died due to lightning to cut grass for the cow on the banks of Sutki river.<\/p>\n

Md. Shamsul Mita's son Md. Alamgir Mita (28) of the 8th Union of Upazila No. 8 of the upazila died due to lightning while harvesting paddy.<\/p>\n

Acknowledging the truth of the incident, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Malay Kumar Das said that the families of the three people killed by lightning have been financially supported by the government.<\/p>\n

In this regard, Banitachong upazila executive officer Padmasan Singh said that on the immediate instructions of the DC sir, we have delivered dry food with cash with the help of cash money to the families of the victims.<\/p>\n
