Dhaka: The Chief Election Commissioner (EC) and other Election Commissioners will be appointed through the formation of the search committee by the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioner Appointment Bill-2022. Through this, the long-desired Election Commission (EC) formation law was enacted.<\/p>\n
On Thursday (January 27), Law Minister Advocate Anisul Haque proposed to pass the Act in the National Parliament and it will be passed by voice vote.
\nEarlier, the opposition party members on this bill should be scrutinized and amended the proposals.<\/p>\n

When the Law Minister presented the bill on January 23, it would be sent to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Law, Justice and Parliament for the report within seven days. When the bill was presented for the pass on Thursday, there would be a detailed discussion and debate for the same.<\/p>\n
The search committee was asked to complete the work within 15 working days but the Khasa bill raised in the parliament had 10 working days. These two amendments were adopted by the two amendments of the bill to pass the bill and the two amendment proposals came from among the other amendments (MPs).<\/p>\n
The bill was passed and the previous bill was sent to the public opinion scrutiny committee and the parliament members of the National Party, BNP, Jasad and Oarkars Party proposed several amendments on the bill. They were rejected by voice votes. After the President's signature on the bill, the publication of the bill in the form of gazette and the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioner will be in effect.<\/p>\n
