Congratulations to you for being elected as the President of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. Our Dear belief is that your \u2018President of Hope\u2019 will be taken away by sustainable recovery where no one is left behind.<\/p>\n
I am very proud to congratulate Bidai President Volkan Bozkir for his leadership in the historic 76th session of the General Assembly despite unprecedented odds. It is a great honor that I am representing my country Bangladesh in the United Nations General Assembly 17 times.<\/p>\n
The 76th session of the General Assembly is being held in a similar manner as COVID-19 is constantly killing people in the world, and many countries are being infected again and again through the new type of Corona virus, which has disrupted the world's health system and economy.<\/p>\n
In this crisis, I respect all warriors in the face of the crisis in this crisis. In the context of the brutal reality of Covid-19, the theme of this session is \u2018Expect\u2019, as a strong supporter of multilateralism and the United Nations system, Bangladesh sees the United Nations as a symbol of hope and aspiration in this crisis.<\/p>\n

This year is a very important year for us. This year we are celebrating the golden opium of independence while we are celebrating the birth centenary of our Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman \u2018Mujibvarsh\u2019.<\/p>\n
I respectfully remember the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, his lifelong selfless struggle and visionary leadership brought us the freedom of dreams. I pay tribute to the brave freedom fighters whose infinite valor and sacrifice made our motherland independent. Our father was a strong supporter of multilateralism. He considered the United Nations to be the center of hope for the people.<\/p>\n
On the first day of our UN campaign, he said in his historic sole speech at the United Nations on September 25, 1974, \u201cSelf-reliance is our goal. The united and collective of the people is The initiative is our designated course of action, there is no room for doubt that international cooperation and resource and technology partnership can facilitate our work, alleviate the suffering of the people.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bangabandhu called for the creation of a world where there would be no economic inequality, social injustice, aggression and threats of nuclear war. We are working tirelessly to realize the unfulfilled dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib. Bangladesh is now one of the five fastest growing economies in the world. In the last decade, we have brought the poverty rate to 31.5 to 20.5 percent in the GDP.<\/p>\n

In the morning of August 15, 1975, a group of misguided killers, the then President of Bangladesh, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, my beloved mother Begum Fazilatun Nesha Mujib, three brothers freedom fighter Captain Sheikh Kamal, freedom fighter Lt. Sheikh Jamal, 10-year-old Sheikh Russell, uncle freedom fighter Sheikh Abu Nasser, 18 family members and close relatives were brutally killed.<\/p>\n
I and my son Sheikh Rehana, she survived that she was staying abroad. She did not let us return to the country for 6 years. She did not let her return to the country. I have lived in exile in exile in foreign land. Returning home, I started the struggle to establish the right of people's vote and rice.
