When the government is going to take initiatives to prevent the trend of increasing the price of medicines, it has been decided to update the price of medicine every year, which is the price of any drug, which will be mentioned on the website of the Bangladesh Drug Administration Department.<\/p>\n

The Cabinet has said that on Monday, the National Drug Policy, 2016, the 2016 government gave the policy approval, Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam gave this information to the reporters.<\/p>\n

There is a tendency to increase the demand for any drug in the first place, but there are examples of prices being raised by artificial crisis, and experts have repeatedly urged the government to prevent this trend.<\/p>\n

The Cabinet Secretary said that there will be no opportunity to get higher prices on the price list fixed by the government. If any organization tries to keep the price above the fixed price, strict action will be taken against them.<\/p>\n

However, the government will not decide what punishment will be given if any institution pays the price of medicine outside the government policy. The Cabinet Secretary said that the government will make a law and the punishment will be written there.<\/p>\n

The secretary said that the instructions to stop the distribution of adulterated, fake and low-quality medicines of the national drug policy are also given. If this policy comes into effect, the government hopes that it will be easier to ensure safe medicines at affordable prices.<\/p>\n

Professor ABM Farooq of Dhaka University's Department of Pharmaceutical Technology welcomed this initiative of the government. \u2018It is definitely a very good initiative. If it works, people will benefit from it,\u2019 he told Dhaka Times. This expert urged to keep an eye on this initiative so that this initiative does not wear bureaucratic complications.<\/p>\n

The fund will be established under the Finance Department to ensure additional funding for efficiency enhancement activities in the Cabinet meeting.<\/p>\n

A legal framework has been established under the Prime Minister's Office for the overall program related to the development of skills.<\/p>\n

The meeting also granted policy approval under the Cost Management Accountants Act, 2016. It has been conducted under the Ordinance of the Martial Law period, which has now been made in the form of Bengali law.<\/p>\n
